Winnall in Reds frame

Barnsley striker Sam Winnall could make his first start since the end of November in the home game against Oldham.

Winnall had been sidelined with a hamstring injury before making a late substitute's appearance in Saturday's home win against Port Vale.

Midfielder Josh Scowen, a recent signing from Wycombe, is hoping to make his first start for the club after stepping off the bench in the Reds' last two matches, while teenage defender Mason Holgate sits out the final game of his three-match ban.

Defenders Peter Ramage and Martin Cranie both returned to the side following injury at the weekend and are expected to resume as Barnsley chase a fourth straight home league win.

Oldham will assess Amari Morgan-Smith ahead of the trip.

The striker was forced off in the first half of the 3-0 win against Notts County at the weekend with a tight hamstring, 11 minutes after he had grabbed the second goal.

If he is absent, Jonathan Forte is ready to take his place after the striker - on his return from a groin problem - replaced Morgan-Smith and scored the third on Saturday.

Otherwise, Latics boss Lee Johnson has a clean bill of health, with Jake Kean set to continue in goal after impressing on his debut against the Magpies.
