Ramage blow for Tykes

Barnsley will be without defender Peter Ramage for the home game with Middlesbrough, but Dale Jennings could return to contention.

Ramage, on loan from Crystal Palace, faces several weeks on the sidelines after sustaining a thigh injury in Barnsley's defeat at QPR in their last game. Bobby Hassell or Jean Yves Mvoto could return to the starting line-up in his place.

Jennings has not featured for the Tykes since the end of September, while goalkeeper Luke Steele is still out with a back injury, so Jack Butland, on loan from Stoke, will continue in goal.

Striker Marcus Pedersen could make his first start since the end of August after recovering from a foot problem.

Middlesbrough defender Jonathan Woodgate is hoping to return to Tony Mowbray's squad.

Woodgate missed Boro's first home league win of the season against Yeovil before the international break due to a calf injury but could be back in contention against the Tykes.

Marvin Emnes is hoping to have finally shaken off a groin problem after being withdrawn during the second half on his return to the side against Yeovil.

Jacob Butterfield is expected to start again against his former club, while boss Tony Mowbray is expecting defenders Justin Hoyte and Rhys Williams, midfielder Jozsef Varga and winger Albert Adomah to all return unscathed following international duty.
