Flitcroft weighs up options

Barnsley manager David Flitcroft has several selection dilemmas ahead of the Yorkshire derby against Huddersfield.

Flitcroft drafted in veteran goalkeeper Mike Pollitt on loan from Wigan in time for the midweek Capital One Cup defeat to Southampton and must decide whether to recall the rested Luke Steele.

Left-back Scott Golbourne, who started all six of the Tykes' games this season, has completed his move to Wolves and with Jean Yves Mvoto suspended following his dismissal at Blackburn last week, Flitcroft will be forced into changes in defence.

Striker Marcus Pedersen, a recent season-long loan signing from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem, could make his first league start, but defenders Lewin Nyatanga (hamstring) and Martin Cranie (knee) remain sidelined.

Huddersfield defender Calum Woods is expected to return to the squad.

Woods missed the midweek Capital One Cup win against Charlton due to a knock and if he fails to recover Murray Wallace will retain his place on the substitutes' bench.

Manager Mark Robins has no new selection worries and could name an unchanged starting line-up for the fourth successive game as Town chase a fourth straight win.

Midfielders Keith Southern (calf) and Anton Robinson (knee) remain Town's only absentees, while strikers Jon Stead and Sean Scannell, plus defender Jack Hunt, are pushing for places in Robins' starting XI.
