Davies blow for Tykes Barnsley have been dealt another injury blow ahead of the home game against Crystal Palace with leading goalscorer Craig Davies sidelined for up to six weeks with hamstring trouble. Davies, who returned to international action for Wales after a five-year absence against Scotland last week after scoring eight goals this season, was replaced late on in the weekend win at Charlton by Marlon Harewood. Manager Keith Hill, already without first-choice central defenders Jim McNulty (hamstring) and Martin Cranie (ribs), is expected to recall Harewood to the starting line-up against Palace alongside Chris Dagnall. Hill will also monitor midfielder Stephen Dawson, who is struggling with illness and a knock, so Kelvin Etuhu and Bobby Hassell may come into contention. Defender Stephen Foster recovered from a back injury in time to play the full 90 minutes at the weekend and will resume in the back four, but midfielder Jim O'Brien (dislocated shoulder), plus summer signings Toni Silva (knee) and Mido (hamstring) are still unavailable. Crystal Palace are without suspended duo Wilfried Zaha and Dean Moxey. The pair have both been hit by one-match bans following the weekend's 2-2 draw against Millwall. Zaha picked up his fifth yellow card of the season 10 minutes into the second half while Moxey was dismissed two minutes before the interval after handling Darius Henderson's header on the line, which sparked the Lions' fightback to earn a point. Darcy Blake is a doubt after being forced off with a second-half injury against Millwall. The defender will face a fitness test ahead of kick-off. Defender Paddy McCarthy remains unavailable with a groin injury that has prevented him making an appearance this season. Boss Dougie Freedman has no other injury worries as he looks to get the focus back on on-field events following Bolton's unsuccessful approach for the 38-year-old manager.
