Reds waiting on Shea

Barnsley are hoping to get permission from Stoke to play new loan signing Brek Shea in their FA Cup clash with Coventry.

Boss Danny Wilson handed a start to USA international Shea in the New Year's Day draw at Birmingham and the winger could resume in an attacking role alongside Chris O'Grady subject to clearance.

Wilson has no new injury or suspension problems and could name an unchanged starting line-up, but defender Lewin Nyatanga is pushing for a recall and the likes of Tomasz Cywka, Marcus Pedersen and Paddy McCourt are hoping to feature.

Bobby Hassell (calf) remains doubtful, but striker Chris Dagnall, defender Jim McNulty and midfielder Dale Jennings could be back in contention after returning to the club following loan spells.

Callum Wilson and Conor Thomas will both miss Coventry's trip.

Striker Wilson is awaiting the results of a scan to his shoulder having sustained injury in the club's 3-1 victory at Rotherham on New Year's Day.

He will definitely sit out at Oakwell along with midfielder Thomas, who also sustained a serious head injury in the closing stages against the Millers.

Defender Dan Seaborne serves the second game of a three-match suspension, while fellow loanee Dagnall has completed his stay and returned to parent club - meaning he could now line up against the Sky Blues. Jordan Clarke (ankle) and John Fleck (hamstring) will again be assessed.
