Flitcroft to keep the faith

Barnsley manager David Flitcroft could name an unchanged starting line-up as his side chase their first league win of the season against Charlton.

Flitcroft has no new injury or suspension worries, but is still without four first-team players and may be tempted to rest teenage midfielder Paul Digby, who made his first appearance in over a year last week.

Jacob Mellis is pushing for a return to the starting line-up, while fellow midfielder Dale Jennings sits out the final game of his three-match ban.

Defender Lewin Nyatanga (hamstring) is edging closer to his first appearance since returning to the club in the summer and midfielder Kelvin Etuhu (hamstring) has also returned to full training, but Martin Cranie (knee) remains sidelined.

Charlton are set to be without skipper Johnnie Jackson when they go in search of their first points of the season.

Jackson was passed fit to start against Middlesbrough last Saturday despite a calf injury but only lasted until half-time, and boss Chris Powell will not risk him again until he has fully recovered.

Fellow midfielder Bradley Pritchard is also missing as he completes a three-match ban for his red card on the opening day of the season.

New striker Simon Church is pushing for his first Championship start after two substitute appearances.
