Barnsley striker Marcus Tudgay's loan spell at the club has been cut short by suspension and Jacob Mellis will also miss the visit of Bolton.

Tudgay arrived on loan from Nottingham Forest last month until January 5, but a straight red card in the weekend draw at Leeds means he will miss the Reds' next three matches.

Midfielder Mellis received his fifth yellow card of the season at Leeds and sits out a one-game ban, but striker Chris O'Grady (calf) could be back for boss Danny Wilson's first home game in charge since returning for a second spell at the club.

Winger Paddy McCourt is hoping to shake off a hamstring injury in time.

Loan duo Kevin McNaughton and Neil Danns are expected to play their final games for Bolton before heading back to their respective parent clubs.

Full-back McNaughton and forward Danns, borrowed from Cardiff and Leicester respectively, see their loan deals expire on December 28 so could pull on a Wanderers jersey for the final time.

Boss Dougie Freedman does not have any new injury or suspension concerns from the squad which drew 1-1 with Charlton at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday and midfielder Mark Davies, now with two substitute cameos under his belt following a long-term knee injury, could make his first start since February.

Midfielder Stuart Holden, full-back Joe Riley and goalkeeper Adam Bogdan (all knee) are out again as is full-back Marc Tierney (foot).
