Duo added to Tykes squad

Barnsley's new signings Liam Lawrence and Ryan McLaughlin could make their first appearances for the club against Blackpool while Brek Shea is poised for his home debut.

Former Sunderland and Stoke midfielder Lawrence arrived at Oakwell on Thursday following his release from Greek side PAOK. Striker Shea (Stoke) and teenage right-back McLaughlin (Liverpool) joined the Tykes on loan last week.

Boss Danny Wilson will be without defender Bobby Hassell (calf), midfielder Kelvin Etuhu (hamstring) and striker Marcus Pedersen (thigh). Winger Jim O'Brien has a groin problem, but is expecting to be included in the squad.

Wilson is still chasing his first win since returning to the club last month, with the Reds without a win in their last six league games.

Blackpool will be boosted by the return of Kirk Broadfoot and Isaiah Osbourne.

The Seasiders have lost eight of their previous nine fixtures and the pressure is mounting on boss Paul Ince ahead of the Oakwell contest, but with defender Broadfoot back from a four-game suspension and midfielder Osbourne available again following a hamstring injury, his thin squad is at least bolstered.

Central defender Gary MacKenzie is a major doubt with an ankle injury and will have a late fitness test while young forward Tom Barkhuizen is out for six months after fracturing his collarbone in the loss to Middlesbrough.

Striker Bobby Grant misses out again because of a knee injury while the failure to replace loan players meant Ince was forced to name two youth-team players on his bench last week, hours after they had already played.
