Proschwitz set for bow

Barnsley's latest signing Nick Proschwitz could make his debut against Blackburn and Liam Lawrence is expected to make his first start for the club.

German striker Proschwitz signed on loan from Hull until the end of the season last week, while midfielder Lawrence made his first appearance off the bench in the home win against Blackpool last time out.

Another recent loan signing, Liverpool full-back Ryan McLaughlin (hamstring), and winger Jim O'Brien (groin) are both doubtful, while defender Bobby Hassell (calf) and striker Marcus Pedersen (thigh) remain sidelined.

Barnsley are bidding for back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Blackburn captain Scott Dann is set to miss out again.

The Rovers skipper failed a fitness test prior to Saturday's 1-1 draw with Derby because of an arm injury and, having not trained again on Monday, boss Gary Bowyer confirmed he will once more be absent.

Bowyer must also do without Ben Marshall as the winger is set for a second scan on an ankle problem he picked up in the game with the Rams while Corry Evans' return from an injury to the same body part, believed to be imminent, is still a couple of weeks away.

Norwegian Josh King is available, though, having missed out at the weekend with a knock while long-term absentee Dickson Etuhu (ankle) sits out again.
