A Look At The New Year's Day Action

01 January 2013 18:17
Manager gone but no change of fortune for Reds who slip to their fifth defeat in seven to remain rooted to the foot of the Championship……..

……..The Reds abysmal run now stands at one win in 15 and they have gone 14 matches without keeping a clean sheet, equalling a run they set 12 months ago between November 2011 and February 2012.

This defeat also ended a brilliant run at London Road. Before today’s 2-1 defeat The Reds had won on each of their five previous visits.

Barnsley have gone 13 years since they last started a New Year on a winning note.

On a brighter note, striker Marlon Harewood managed only his second goal of the season and his first on the road since April 2011.
