Barnet chairman Tony Kleanthous is confident the club can retain its Football League status after plans to rebuild the Bees' Underhill ground were approved by the local council.
The League Two club could have been expelled because the current facilities at the ground do not fulfill Football League requirements.
Kleanthous told the Barnet and Potters Bar Times: "It's an understatement to say we're delighted.
"We plan to start work almost immediately on a £500,000 project to provide a roofed South Stand to replace the old temporary seating, plus part of a covered North Stand, for away supporters, and much-needed facilities for the disabled."
Football League criteria states each ground must have 2,000 covered seats and Underhill's current capacity is 5,300, with only 1,000 covered seats.
