Townsend teams up with Bees

Michael Townsend is keen to get some first-team action under his belt after moving from Cheltenham Town to Barnet on a month's loan.

The 22-year-old, who has made 94 appearances for the Robins since making his debut for the club more than three years ago, was left out of the Town team for Saturday's home defeat to Scunthorpe United.

He told the Bees' official website: "I'm delighted to be joining up with Barnet.

"Martin Allen has come in and taken the reins at Cheltenham and tells me he wants me to play some games to get some match practice at League level rather than reserve games. I'm relishing the opportunity."
