Stimson hails matchwinner McLeod

Izale McLeod earned the praise of his manager after his first goals for the club gave Barnet a 2-0 victory over Accrington. The 26-year-old striker, who had appeared just three times off the bench since joining in September, began his full debut with a bang by rifling home after 12 minutes. McLeod underwent knee surgery after joining Barnet but showed no ill-effects when he produced a low finish from George Francomb's free-kick. With Stanley pressing for a leveller before the break, McLeod started and finished a rapid Barnet breakaway to give the Bees breathing space. "We've been waiting for this," said Barnet boss Mark Stimson. "The club have put some work into Izale and he's put a hell of a lot of work into his rehab. I was excited to have him on the pitch because we know what he's done at this level. We just hope he can repeat that and if he does, for a club of Barnet's size, what a great signing it will be. "We didn't play too well but we knew that if we could get the ball up to Izale or (Steve) Kabba we could create problems, and we did."
