Stimson enjoying added rest

Barnet manager Mark Stimson believes the postponement of their match with Port Vale on Saturday could prove a blessing. A blank weekend has given the players at Underhill a chance to recharge their batteries. Striker Izale McLeod, who scored two goals on his full debut against Accrington a fortnight ago, has had extra time to recover from his first 90 minutes of the season, while winger Glenn Poole should be fit after an ankle problem. The Bees host Southend on Boxing Day, weather permitting, and Stimson said: "I believe the players will arrive fresher."
