Southam relishing "tough" festive period

Barnet skipper Glen Southam is relishing the hectic Christmas period - even if it means jumping in an ice bath. The Bees are determined to climb out of the drop zone and face games against Southend, Stockport, Aldershot and Stevenage in quick succession. "The Christmas period is one of the toughest of the season in terms of having four games in nine days but personally I love it," said midfielder Southam. "The more games the merrier as far as I'm concerned. As a player you really have to look after yourself. "The dreaded ice bath will definitely be making an appearance. Jumping into a tub of ice isn't the nicest experience in the world, especially at this time of year, but I actually can't speak highly enough of it - it really does the job. "It's a tough week for the players but if we get it right and get the results then there is no better way to start the new year."
