Rushden & Diamonds' assistant manager moves to Underhill According to the Rushden & Diamonds official website, the Rushden assistant manager, Michael Stone has left the club, “in order to take up a coaching position at Barnet”. However, there has been no announcement yet from Barnet FC to confirm this. Stone has had a varied coaching career. He gained his first coaching qualification at 17 from the London FA and spent three years at Loughborough University gaining a degree in sports and business management before joining Nottingham Forest as an academy coach. He later moved to Tottenham Hotspur working with the youth side. He also had a spell coaching the South Korea national side during the 2006 World Cup. Stone joined Wingate & Finchley in September 2007, and the local side who play in the Ryman League Division One North almost made the play-offs that season. Stone left Wingate in February 2009 to join Rushden and the club made the Blue Square Premier play-offs this season, losing to Oxford United in the semi finals. As a player, Stone never played at a higher level than as a Sunday League player for Leytonstone Victoria.
