Hughes pens Bees extension

Midfielder Mark Hughes has signed a new one-year contract with League Two outfit Barnet. The 25-year-old Northern Ireland international joined the Bees in January from Chester City and showed up well in the closing weeks of the season. Meanwhile, veteran goalkeeper Lee Harrison has admitted that the Bees may find it hard to retain the services of striker John O'Flynn if he continues to impress. The 26-year-old Irishman scored 18 goals in 36 games last season, with Harrison saying: "We'll be fortunate enough to keep him because it was in the second half of the season he did it. "But if he starts well, it could be January when we definitely get some bids for him."
