Barnet caretaker manager Paul Fairclough paid tribute to his players after a battling performance saw them secure a goalless draw at Port Vale. The improving Bees stretched their unbeaten run to four games as early-season leaders Vale again failed to inspire.Fairclough said: "We came here to do a job and I'm delighted with the way my players went about it."The pitch was in a shocking state, but we had 14 warriors out there who all battled for the cause. When we took players off those who replaced them picked up the baton."We are fighting for our lives and our first task was to stop losing so many games. We have done that by changing the shape of the team and tightening up defensively."We are now unbeaten in four games, with three of those being away from home. Our next step is to be more positive so we can win more games and take us to the next level."
