May treble leaves Wasps buzzing

Stephen May's hat-trick helped stretch Alloa's unbeaten league run to 10 games as they won 3-1 at East Stirling.

The promotion chasers took the lead inside the opening two minutes, May heading home Mark Docherty's inswinging corner.

The hosts responded quickly, teenager Stuart Beveridge levelling the scores with a long-range effort just four minutes later.

Docherty almost put Paul Hartley's side back in front, but saw his curling effort rattle the crossbar nine minutes before the interval.

The Wasps were not to be denied, however, May again on the scoresheet two minutes into the second half with a 25-yard effort.

The teenager then struck a thunderous long-range strike high into the net after 72 minutes to complete his treble and secure the points for the visitors.
