Barnet new boy Simon Clist is hoping to help the Bees earn promotion back to the Nationwide League.
The 22-year-old former Bristol City midfielder made his debut in the 3-1 win against Margate at Underhill and has high hopes of immediate success with the Bees.
He told the Barnet & Potters Bar Times: "I think promotion is definitely realistic and that was one of the reason's why I joined, to get the club back into the Football League.
"They're all good lads here and I've settled in well. I wasn't first choice at Bristol City and I was interested in joining Barnet straight away."
Bees boss Martin Allen added: "Simon is a good acquisition for us as he's signed for 18 months and I am planning not only for this season, but also for next."
