Goalkeeper Phil Carpenter has decided to leave Barnet in search of first-team football. The 22-year-old has been back-up to first-choice duo Jake Cole and Lee Harrison for the past three and a half years but failed to make a first-team appearance. Carpenter, who has only featured in Herts Senior Cup and friendly games, told the club`s official website: "I've trained and trained and kept fit. I need to play first-team football somewhere." Youth team stopper Tom Coulson, 17, has now been promoted to number two as he aims to earn a new contract next season.
