Barnet are interested in signing former England international Ray Parlour.
The 34-year-old midfielder is currently without a club after Championship side Hull City decided not to offer him a new deal at the end of last season.
Parlour made 15 appearances for the Tigers after joining them on a short-term contract in February.
Bees boss Paul Fairclough is keen to talk to the veteran former Arsenal midfielder when he returns from holiday next week.
Fairclough wants to add some experience to his squad after signing youngsters Anthony Thomas, Ashley Carew, Max Porter, James Cole and Neal Bishop already this summer.
