Barnet are reported to be ready to hand former Wycombe striker Craig Faulconbridge a deal after he impressed in the reserves' 8-2 defeat against Luton.
The 27-year-old is currently without a club but caught the eye of Bees boss Paul Fairclough by scoring both goals while appearing as a trialist in the second-string's thrashing.
Fairclough is believed to be ready to discuss terms with the forward after deciding his experience would prove to be a useful asset at Underhill.
Faulconbridge has scored a career total of 40 goals in 192 league outings during spells with Coventry, Dunfermline, Hull, Wrexham and Wycombe.
