Barnet manager Paul Fairclough is pleased to have won the race to sign York City midfielder Neal Bishop.

The 25-year-old has spent the last 16 months with the Minstermen following his transfer from Scarborough, making 63 appearances for Billy Ewan's side and winning the club's Player of the Season award in the campaign just ended.

"Neal is a dynamic and hungry player, eager to show that he has a career in the Football League," Fairclough told the Bees' official website.

"He was instrumental in York's success as shown by their supporters voting for him, as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Football League.

"Neal is excited about joining Barnet Football Club and helping them gain promotion this season."
