Bees duo lose appeals
23 Jan 2007 - 15:51:15
Barnet duo Dean Sinclair and Ian Hendon have lost their appeals following their red cards in Saturday's controversial 3-1 defeat at MK Dons.
Sinclair is suspended for four games, starting with Saturday's FA Cup fourth round clash against Plymouth Argyle, while captain Ian Hendon misses the next three games.
Sinclair was found guilty of serious foul play and Hendon of misconduct.
After the game Bees manager Paul Fairclough had slammed referee Andrew Marriner, saying: "I'm very disappointed with the performance of the referee.
"Dean Sinclair isn't a nasty player, he just loves playing football - we have to drag him off the training pitch.
"It wasn't a nasty foul but the referee has reacted to it and decided there was enough in it to send him off. It changed the whole game.
"I can't comment on Ian's sending-off because it was on the other side of the pitch so I'll have to review the video, but Ian said he did nothing wrong.
"And the penalty he awarded them was laughable. Dean and Ian are in bits, they're distraught.
"But I've always known the team have got that warrior-like performance in them and their efforts were Herculean after that with nine men."
