Barnet chairman Tony Kleanthous has refused to be drawn on speculation that veteran midfielder Andy Hessenthaler will become the club's new assistant manager.
The Bees have struggled on their return to the Football League, with former Gillingham boss Hessenthaler joining the club as a player until the end of the season.
However, of any future change in that position, Kleanthous said: "Andy is a great addition to the squad and he wanted to come to us as a player.
"Whether he is appointed as Paul Fairclough's assistant is something for the future.
"It will depend firstly on whether Paul wants Andy in that role and secondly if Andy wants to accept that role."
