Bees too good for sorry Quakers

24 October 2009 18:57
The 24-year-old defender powered in Yannick Bolasie's cross in the 61st minute and substitute Nicky Deverdics doubled the advantage with 10 minutes remaining. Darlington's David Davis was denied by Jake Cole in the Barnet goal before Bolasie sealed the win from six yards out. John O'Flynn should have put the hosts ahead after just two minutes when he screwed his shot wide from close range after Yakubu's header was blocked on the line and the Bees were almost made to pay when Simon Thomas broke clear on the counter-attack only to shoot wide of Cole's goal. In the 60th minute Barnet boss Ian Hendon threw on Deverdics and within 60 seconds Yakubu rose highest to break the deadlock. Albert Adomah then hit the post before Deverdics doubled the advantage in the 79th minute and Bolasie struck two minutes later to seal the win.
