John set to miss Cobblers clash Barnet are likely to be without striker Collins John for Friday night's visit of Northampton. The Dutchman limped off with a quad injury just 15 minutes into his Bees debut as the rock-bottom npower League Two club fell to a 4-1 defeat at home to Plymouth. Ricky Holmes was forced off with an ankle injury with 10 minutes remaining, which could mean 18-year-old striker Jamal Lowe is given a starting berth against the Cobblers. Edgar Davids is not expected to make a first team appearance yet and will continue in his role as joint-head coach. Curtis Weston is still struggling with a thigh injury but should return to training soon, while Ishmail Kamara may require an operation on his shoulder injury. Northampton could be unchanged for the trip to their bottom of the table opponents. The Cobblers claimed their biggest win of the season in their last league fixture, beating Exeter 3-0 at Sixfields. That victory came on the back of a Johnstone's Paint Trophy triumph over npower League One side Colchester. Boss Aidy Boothroyd rotated his squad for the U's game but picked his strongest possible XI against the Grecians, which meant partnering Adebayo Akinfenwa and Clive Platt up front with leading goalscorer Alex Nicholls operating on the left wing. And Boothroyd has hinted the side will line up in a similar way at Barnet on Friday night, which will mean a first away game for teenage Manchester City midfielder Emyr Huws. Another loanee - full-back Danny East - could perhaps force his way back into the side if he recovers from a shoulder injury.
