Barnet defender Bira Dembele pushing for recall against Newport

Barnet defender Bira Dembele is hoping to make his first appearance since October against Newport.

Dembele has been sidelined due to a knee injury but will undergo a fitness test on Friday morning to make the FA Cup second-round clash.

Striker Kevin Lisbie, restricted to one appearance this season, is also closing in on a return to action following a hamstring problem, while boss Martin Allen has reported no new injuries.

Goalkeeper Graham Stack remains a long-term absentee after groin surgery as Barnet, who knocked out Blackpool in the previous round, chase their first win in five matches.

Newport have been denied permission to play loan striker Oliver McBurnie in the FA Cup.

Swansea striker McBurnie scored a sensational 23-minute hat-trick on his debut last weekend as Newport beat Luton 3-0 in Sky Bet League Two.

But McBurnie's parent club do not want him to be cup-tied and teenager Aaron Collins, who scored four times in a developmental game against Plymouth in midweek, should come into the squad.

Cardiff pair Jazzi Barnum-Bobb and Tommy O'Sullivan, however, have been given permission by their parent club to play and County boss John Sheridan will select a strong side in attempting to extend a nine-game unbeaten run.
