Bees sweat on veteran pair

Experienced Barnet duo John Oster and Craig Beattie are doubts for the visit of Morecambe.

Former Everton midfielder Oster has sat out the last three matches with a hamstring injury and is not expected to recover in time.

Ex-Celtic and Swansea striker Beattie was also forced to miss last weekend's 2-1 defeat at Plymouth with a hamstring problem and he will be checked over.

Player-boss Edgar Davids has drafted in Watford midfielder Ross Jenkins on a month's loan so he could make his debut.

Davids is still without forwards Ricky Holmes (foot) and Steve Kabba (knee) but Luke Gambin pushed his claims for a start with a goal for the reserves in midweek, and fellow striker Jamal Lowe is back from a loan spell at Boreham Wood.

Andy Parrish remains Morecambe's only injury doubt.

Parrish has been sidelined in recent weeks with a thigh problem and will be assessed ahead of the trip to Underhill.

The Shrimps are enjoying a rich vein of form, winning five of their past eight matches, but goalkeeper Barry Roche believes the struggling Bees will provide them with a stern test.

He told Press Association Sport: "It's always tough when you go to Barnet, no matter what position they are in the league, it's always a tough place to go.

"We've seen that over recent years where we've had a couple of really good battles with them.

"They're in desperate need of the points so it's a good game and a game we're all looking forward to."

Forward Jordan Burrow is pushing for inclusion after bagging a brace during Morecambe's 2-0 reserve win over Tranmere in midweek.
