Barnet to play Concord Rangers in FA Cup

Details of the draw for the 4th Qualifying Round

Barnet have been drawn to play Conference South club, Concord Rangers in the 4th Qualifying Round of the FA Cup to be played on the 26th October. Concord came up last season via the play offs from the Ryman Premier League and currently stand 12th in the table four points off of the play off places.

Concord’s home ground is Thames Road which is in CanveyIsland and the club were only formed in 1967. There will be an article on the club’s rise in the Barnet Mad series ‘Let’s Look At’ before the cup tie.

One Concord player looking forward to the game will be midfielder, James Elmes who was a fringe player during Barnet’s 2005 Conference winning season.

Concord defeated fellow Conference South club, Histon in the 3rd Qualifying Round, winning 2-1 after being 1-0 down at half time. In the 2nd Qualifying Round, Concord beat St Ives Town, who play in the Southern League, Division One Central, 4-3. Concord are nicknamed ‘the beachboys’.
