Barnet draw Swansea in Carling Cup

Bees travel to Chesterfield on the opening day of the League season Barnet have been drawn to play Swansea City in the 1st round of the Carling Cup this coming season with the game being played the week commencing 9th August. The Welsh club had an excellent season in the Championship last season, only just missing out on a play off place. Former Barnet favourite, Mark Gower currently plays for the Swans. Meanwhile, Barnet will travel to Chesterfield’s new ground on the opening day of the new season, on 7th August. The first home game will the following Saturday against Burton Albion. Stevenage come to Underhill on 2nd November and Bees travel to Broadhall Way for a New Year fixture on 3rd January 2011. The much awaited arrival of Gillingham to Underhill will be on the 23rd November, while Barnet’s Boxing Day match will at Southend United. The last match of the season is a home match with Port Vale, as in 2009.
