Micah Hyde and Kenny Gillet amongst players released by Barnet Barnet today announced their retained list. Further to the release of Ismail Yakubu, Jake Hyde and Nicky Deverdics, the club have released the following players; Ryan O’Neill, Ahmed Deen, Daniel Leach, Joe Tabiri, Luke Medley, Albert Jarrett, Cliff Akurang, Paul Furlong and last season’s captain, Micah Hyde. Still under contract are Joe Devera, Danny Hart, Reece Yorke and Mauro Vilhete, while, as mentioned last week, the club have taken up the options of a further year in the case of Jake Cole and Clovis Kamdjo. Mark Hughes has been offered a new one year contract. Albert Adomah and John O’Flynn are, of course, out of contract and have refused offers of new contracts, while players such as Phil Carpenter, Will Viner, Chris James and David Livermore were on short term contracts and it is assumed that they have left the club. With Scott Barrett being the new assistant manager, it is assumed also that Gary Breen, who was assistant manager to Ian Hendon as well as a regular member of the first team, has also left the club. Of course, new manager, Mark Stimson may decide that he wants to retain players who have been released. Former Bees’ favourite, Andy Hessenthaler, who has replaced Stimson at the Priestfield Stadium, has offered Barry Fuller, another former Barnet player, a new contract at Gillingham in similar circumstances, as Fuller had originally been released by Gillingham. One thing does seem certain and that is that there is likely to be a lot of comings and goings this summer around Underhill.
