Anyon denies Barnet

Lincoln keeper Joe Anyon produced an outstanding performance as the Imps grabbed their first home win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Barnet. Lincoln snatched the lead after only 16 minutes when Barnet defender Joe Devera fouled Drewe Broughton inside the box and City's on-loan striker Ben Hutchinson converted the resulting penalty. But Lincoln failed to build on their advantage allowing Barnet to come more and more into the game. Anyon was forced to make an excellent 41st-minute save to keep out a goal-bound shot from Jordan Parkes. Although Hutchinson was denied by Barnet keeper Jake Cole early in the second half it was the Bees who dominated the last 45 minutes. Mark Marshall and Steve Kabba were both denied by Anyon and then striker Phil Walsh was left unmarked inside the box but his header flashed wide. Anyon made his best save 10 minutes from time when he kept out another effort from Walsh. Lincoln had the chance to double their lead in stoppage time when Delroy Facey broke away but the veteran slipped at the vital moment and Barnet cleared.
