Alloa stormed to the top of the Scottish Third Division with a 1-0 victory over Annan thanks to Stephen May's wonder goal.
The striker settled the tie at Recreation Park with a stunning strike from all of 35 yards.
Picking up a pass from Ryan McCord on the half hour, he looked up before thumping the ball past Alex Mitchell in the Annan goal.
The Galabankies looked to reply through Aaron Muirhead but his stinging shot was tipped around the post by Scott Bain before Mark Docherty saw his shot beaten away by Mitchell.
The victory meant the Wasps leapfrogged Stranraer into first place after they could only manage a 2-2 draw with Berwick.
Annan's defeat keeps them in third place, five points behind the leaders.
