Barnet caretaker boss Martin Allen has praised the Bees fans that turned out to watch the side's 3-1 win over Southport on Tuesday.
The match took place less than 24 hours after manager Peter Shreeves had quit Underhill and just 769 people watched as a Neil Midgley brace and a Wayne Purser effort sank the Sandgrounders.
"Yes, the attendance was low and there was a feeling of depression before the game, but for those who came to the game I hope they enjoyed watching a superb team performance," Allen told the club's official website.
"I particularly enjoyed watching our two young players Bai Mass Lette Jallow and Chris Cashman and also the development and encouragement of captain for the night Lee Pluck.
"The support was invaluable especially in the second half when the score was 2-1 and it was definitely a case of backs to the wall."
