Allen urges consistency

New Barnet boss Martin Allen challenged his side to maintain their high standards after they claimed a vital 2-1 win over Crewe. First-half strikes from Daniel Leach and Izale McLeod made it two wins in three matches for Allen as the Bees edged closer to safety. The hosts had to play the final few seconds with 10 men after Sam Walker was dismissed for a second booking, but they held on. "It was a massive victory, but it was still only worth three points. We have to play like this every week now," said Allen. "The players are exhausted in the dressing room, that's not surprising considering they defended like tigers. The crowd were amazing, even at the end when we had ten men it felt like we had 12. "All the players win the game, we haven't got any individuals, we are just a great group of blokes. It was a really difficult second half, the goal just before half-time really hurt us. When the players have that enthusiasm it's hard for myself and the fans not to get involved, they are here every Saturday watching and everyone loves it when we win."
