Barcelona captain Xavi has been advised not to rush back from an Achilles injury to feature in this weekend's showdown with La Liga leaders Valencia.
The 30-year-old missed Spain's recent European Championship qualifiers against Lithuania and Scotland and Dr Ramon Cugat, who has been helping treat Xavi, believes that the midfield ace is not yet ready for a return to action.
He told Spanish television channel Antena 3: "Xavi is getting better and better, so that one side does not have any pain and the other still has a little bit.
"He wants to play on Saturday, but I have told him he has to wait a bit because he still has trouble on the other side. It is too early for him to play."
