Barcelona are close to reaching agreement with Xavi over a new long-term contract which would see the midfielder remain at the Camp Nou for the remainder of his career.
The 28-year-old Spain international was reported to be at loggerheads with club officials over extending his contract which had until 2010 to run.
Xavi was linked with moves to Manchester United and Liverpool with further reports suggesting negotiations over a new deal with his boyhood club had broken down.
However, the Catalan-born fans' favourite is now set to pledge his future and the remainder of his career to Barca with a deal that will keep him at the club until 2013.
Xavi has made over 450 appearances during a decade in the Barcelona first team.
