Barcelona have agreed new long-term contracts with midfield playmaker Xavi and rising star Pedro Rodriguez.
Xavi, 30, has penned a new deal with the Spanish champions which could keep him at the Camp Nou until 2016.
The Spain midfielder is now likely to see out his entire career with the Catalan club, with the new deal subject to him playing 50 per cent of the games in the last two seasons of his current deal (2012/13 and 2013/14).
"FC Barcelona and Xavi Hernandez, who were due to finish their contractual relationship on June 30, 2014, will add two clauses onto the contract this Wednesday which could keep the player at the club until 2016, depending on the amount of games played," confirmed a club statement.
Meanwhile, winger Pedro has committed his future until summer 2015 following a breakthrough season for the 22-year-old academy graduate.
