If having one superstar and arguably the best player on the planet was not enough, the Catalan team Barcelona will now be home to another hot South American sensation Neymar who will be playing for them from next season. Neymar confirmed that it would be an honour to play for the Spanish giants and his 5 year contract with the club makes them the instant favourites next season for the League title and the Champions League.

Lionel Messi’s tremendous skills and relentless goal scoring rate have delivered Barca the league title in style this season and they came back with vengeance to topple Real Madrid. Barcelona’s performance in the League has been clinical this year and they overcame difficult distractions, the biggest of which was Tito Villanova’s health, to stay on course to accumulate 100 points for the season.

Barcelona’s acquisition of Neymar is a scary prospect for oppositions across the country and the continent as the club will look to make amends next season in the domestic tournaments and the Champions League. With Messi having the whole offseason to regain full health and get to full strength, the team looks poised to dominate from the word ‘go’ in their next campaign.

Neymar is no doubt a wonderful addition for any team on the planet, and playing together with the group of stars already established at Barcelona, should only make him even better. With the possession domination and precise passing game perfected by the Barca and the presence of playmakers like Xavi and Iniesta in their peaks, the Brazilian could be in for a completely new level of play than he experienced so far at Santos.

It will be very interesting to see how Messi and Neymar will team up in front of the goal. Opponent goal keepers and defenders will no doubt be terrorized and a clean sheet against Barca would be worth and treated as a victory! Real Madrid will be beginning a season under a new manager and going through a transition with some of their big names poised to make a move away from the club, and with Atletico Madrid too set to lose their biggest player Falcao in the summer, Barcelona’s path to the league looks all the more certain.

With Pep Guardiola beginning his stint at Bayern, the German champions will be the other favourites to win it all again next season and it will be a special match to football fans all over the world if the might of Messi and Neymar locks horns with the tactical acumen of Pep guiding the brilliance of players like Robben and Ribery.

Whether or not Barca achieves great heights with Messi and Neymar will be known only at the end of next season, but seeing them play on the same side is already worth many a match ticket for any passionate fan of the game.
