Who are British fans supporting in the Champions League now?

So long, Manchester City. Bye bye, Arsenal. See you later, Chelsea.

There are no English or Scottish teams left in the Champions League follwing City’s loss to Barcelona, so who are British fans supporting in the competition now?

The answer, perhaps unsurprisingly, is Barca.

A Usurv poll of 1,000 Brits asked who they wanted to see winning the Champions League, and only Barca and Real Madrid got a look-in, with 35.5% and 26.1% of the vote respectively.

Third were Monaco on 10.2% – perhaps showing off the British love of the underdog – while, slightly surprisingly, Atletico Madrid were the least popular team, with only 4% hoping Diego Simeone’s team would triumph.

So the appeal of the big two in Spain – and Barca in particular – is clearly as strong in the UK as it is everywhere else in the world. And with these guys playing for them, why wouldn’t it be?
