David Villa has been officially confirmed as a Barcelona player after passing a medical and signing a four-year contract with the Spanish champions.
The Spain striker has joined the Catalan giants in a £34.2million deal from Valencia after a medical assessment on Friday morning.
"All these tests have only confirmed that he is ready to come to Barca and ready to play in the forthcoming World Cup finals," explained club doctor Ricard Pruna.
Villa joined Valencia from Real Zaragoza in the summer of 2005 and went on to score 119 goals in 193 league and European appearances.
He has also scored 36 times in 55 appearances for his country and was top-scorer at the European Championship finals two years ago as Spain were crowned as champions.
Barcelona have the option to extend the contract by a further 12 months, while the deal also contains a 200million euro buyout fee.
