Valdes in support of referees

Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has followed coach Pep Guardiola's lead and denied suggestions that referees are hampering their bid for a third straight La Liga crown.

The standard of refereeing in Spain has been brought under the spotlight after Barca had two players sent off during Saturday's 2-1 win over Getafe.

After the match Guardiola refused to be drawn on the standard of refereeing and Valdes has now followed suit.

"It is not logical to doubt the work of the referees," he said.

"We need to dedicate our attention to ourselves and work every day to fight for the three points.

"The referees are professionals and I do not think the media pressure will affect their decisions."
