Every football fan would agree that Lionel Messi is the greatest player on the planet. However, with such great players like Xavi and Iniesta, would he be the same player?

In the 2011/2012 season Lionel managed to score 73 goals in all competitions, a phenomenal achievement. He is currently the all time goal scorer in all competitions, at FC Barcelona. At just the age of 25, we can all expect to be blessed with plenty more goals from the little Argentinian.

He has won the lucrative FIFA Ballon d'Or for the 3rd consecutive time, a feat managed only by 4 other players, he also managed to score a goal in every competition FC Barcelona played in last season.

With 234 goals in all competitions, at just the age of 25, we can assume Lionel will hold that record for many years to come. Outside of Barca, he is the leading goal scorer in The Champions League now for the last 4 years, he is the first player in La Liga history with eight hatricks in one season. He is currently in the running for another Ballon d'Or title, which could make him the only player to receive the prestigous award 4 seasons in a row, and with 72 goals in one season behind him, history could occur.
