Thigh injury rules out Iniesta

Barcelona star Andres Iniesta has been handed a blow after scans revealed his hamstring injury picked up in training could keep him out of action for up to a month.

The Spain international has a tear in his right leg muscle and he will miss a big chunk of the Catalans' seven remaining La Liga fixtures and the two legs of their Champions League semi-final showdown against Internazionale.

If they can see off the challenge of Jose Mourinho's outfit, the Spanish table-toppers may try and get their talismanic midfielder fit and ready for the Champions League final in Madrid on May 22.

"He is sad and down - we want him back as soon as possible and let's hope we can take him to the final at the Bernabeu," said head coach Pep Guardiola.

"He trains morning and evening and takes his profession as seriously as anyone. He doesn't deserve this."
