Suarez Focused On Results

Luis Suarez may have made a slow start to life at Barcelona but he is now hoping his recent hot form can help fire them to the title.

The Uruguay forward, banned for the early part of the season after biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup in Brazil, added two goals to his season tally in Barca's 4-0 triumph over Almeria on Wednesday evening, having now found the net in three consecutive home league matches.

"The important thing was to take three points," Suarez told his club's official website. "We know that if we are not focused 100 per cent we have nothing to do.

"The Primera Division is not an easy place to get three points if you are not fully focused in every game.

"We know we depend on ourselves to win the league title and so we must face every game in the same way.

"All the games are tough but if we face them the way we know how, we will have a good shot at winning, because we are Barca,"

Suarez, 28, joined Barca from Liverpool in a reported £63million transfer deal last summer but struggled to make an impact in his first few months with the Catalan giants after a delayed start following his ban.

He scored his first La Liga goal on December 21.

Suarez has nine league goals since and has also set up six more in 21 league appearances.

Barca are four points clear of Real Madrid at the top of the Primera Division standings with eight games remaining.

Luis Enrique's men play away at Sevilla on Saturday before travelling to France on Wednesday to face Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.
