Pep targets beautiful football
27 May 2009 - 08:51:55
Coach Pep Guardiola believes the best way for Barcelona to overcome Manchester United and win the Champions League Final is to play 'beautiful football'.
Guardiola has conceded that victory in Rome will be difficult after describing the reigning European champions as the best team in the world.
However, he wants Barca to play with total freedom and to have no regrets at full-time.
"The fans know that it will not be easy," said Guardiola.
"We know we face the best team in the world and we want to beat the best team in the world.
"In order to do that, we will try to be Barca.
"I want my players to play beautiful and I want them to be daring and to show to the world why we have been so successful and lift the cup.
"That is my only worry, I don't want to have any regrets after the game that we didn't do this or that on the pitch."
Meanwhile, Guardiola is remaining tight-lipped on whether either of his injured duo of Thierry Henry (knee) and Andrew Iniesta (thigh) will play.
"We still have one training session," he added. "We will see what their condition is. If they are well, they will play.
"Of course I am confident because they are here and they are with us and for us."
