Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez has been ruled out for between two and three weeks with an ankle injury, the European champions announced on Wednesday.

The Spanish international sustained the injury during Barca's 1-0 league win at promoted Granada on Tuesday evening.

"The exams performed this morning on the forward from the Canaries confirmed that he is suffering from a distension of the peroneal tendon in the left ankle," read a statement on the club website on Wednesday.

"His absence is estimated at between two and three weeks."

Pedro will therefore miss at least two league matches, the Champions League trip to Czech side Viktoria Plzen on November 1 and the re-arranged King's Cup match against third-division Hospitalet in November 9.

Barca have been hampered by injuries in the early weeks of the season, with Andres Iniesta, Alexis Sanchez, Ibrahim Afellay, Eric Abidal, Cesc Fabregas, Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol all spending time in the treatment room.
