Neymar set to make European move this summer?

Europe’s top clubs are monitoring the Brazilian wonderkid, there’s no doubt about that. But there are doubts over where Neymar will be come the end of August.

At the age of 21, Neymar has already established himself in the Brazilian national team, earning 31 caps since his debut against the USA in 2010. He’s netted 19 international goals, only 14 behind legend Ronaldinho.

At club level, he’s scored an impressive 135 goals for Santos. His goals have helped the team win the Copa Libertadores in 2011, the Copa do Brasil in 2010, the Recopa Sudamerica in 2012 and 3 Brazilian League trophies.

Neymar was also the poster boy for Brazil’s Olympic football team at London 2012. He and the team earned a silver medal after losing to a strong Mexican team in the final.

So his CV is impressive. That’s why the big clubs in Europe are grappling for his signature.

The Premier League isn’t an environment he’d survive in for long, in my opinion.

Take Robinho for an example. So much quality and potential, but he turned out to be a £30 million flop.

Physically speaking, Neymar and Robinho aren’t that much different. Small, skinny and very nippy on the ball. But Robinho was always out-muscled. He couldn’t inject his quality in to many games. There were flashes of magic, but overall, he was a let down.

Neymar should go to the Spanish League, because it’s a lot less physical which allows time on the ball to roam around the field.

I firmly believe that Neymar will be linking up with Messi at Barcelona. But not until the end of the Brazilian World Cup in 2014.
